Cargobuckle packaging design

The goal of this project was to transform the current ladder rack packaging into a new on-brand direction that was much more exciting to place on store shelves and pop-up displays. The ladder rack system is a module you place on a ladder rack to tie down ladders on roof racks.

Concept Development

A multitude of iterations were created to illustrate different packaging for 1 or 2 products in box, having some sort of interaction to try product and creating new branding through this packaging. The goal was also to fit as much product on a pop up display as possible so that lead to the final concepts.

Refining the Ideas

We narrowed it down to three packaging ideas. This showcases how a 1 inch and 2 inch ladder rack system would look as separate boxes. In the end we decides idea for an exposed product shown in concept 4 and 1 above was the way we wanted to go. I came up with the idea of selling it as a life style product that allows users not only the ability to hold ladder racks, but kayaks, lumbar, and anything else that they may come up with.
